Some questions we hear a lot. So much so that we decided to provide some answers.

What is Redpoint?

It’s a high-quality Wilmington apartment community designed especially with UNCW students in mind. Redpoint features a variety of spacious homes plus a full set of community features such as a 24-hour fitness center, resort-style pool, business center and study spaces, all just minutes from campus.

Is Redpoint part of the University of North Carolina Wilmington?

Redpoint is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Redpoint has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Redpoint pays a flat rate that includes:

  • Internet
  • Water/sewer
  • Furnishings (if selected)
  • Flat-panel TV in living room
  • In-unit laundry
  • Lawn service
  • Parking
  • Community features – fitness center, pool, valet trash service, etc.
What size are the homes?

Redpoint offers multiple floorplans in 3-bedroom, 3½-bath and 4-bedroom, 4½-bath layouts, ranging from 1,690 to 1,800 square feet.

Are the homes furnished?

Redpoint offers an optional furniture package for a small additional charge, which includes a full-size bed, dresser, desk and chair in each bedroom, and a sofa, two chairs, coffee table and entertainment stand in the living room. To see a sample of the furniture and other finishes, please visit our model home.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 12, 2024 to July 25, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final 2 installments.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Redpoint also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Redpoint?

Your living costs at Redpoint can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Redpoint. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Redpoint open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Redpoint Wilmington are students at University of North Carolina Wilmington or Cape Fear Community College and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Redpoint is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Redpoint is a gated community, with electronic front door locks and individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Redpoint is pet-friendly, subject to limits on animals and breeds. The community is smoke-free in all indoor areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Redpoint?

Redpoint offers parking on-site for no additional charge.

What other transportation options will I have?

Redpoint is served by multiple UNCW shuttle bus routes, stopping right at the community every three to nine minutes, and continuing to campus in ten minutes’ time, weekdays when school is in session during Fall and Spring semesters. It’s also a short walk or bike ride to UNCW.

Can I see a model home?

Yes. Please request an appointment for a personal tour, or just stop by to see us and we’ll be happy to show you the community.
