Move-in: What you need to know.

We’re so happy you decided to join us.

Before our adventure begins, let us tell you a little bit about what you’ll need to prepare for move-in. We all know reading is best when done on your favorite hammock under the sun. So, get comfortable.

And if you have any questions, send us an email. We promise it won’t end up in a folder never to be seen or heard from again.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Will the community be open if classes are online?
Yes, we will remain open regardless of the format of online or in-person classes, or whether campus is fully open. Our mission is to provide a home for our residents. All of our apartments are equipped with their own kitchen, living room and bathrooms. Like other apartment communities, we expect to stay open at all times.

Will move-in be delayed due to COVID-19?
Our move-in date remains the same, although we will have expanded appointment times and other processes to help with social distancing. Our team looks forward to welcoming you home. What should I expect on move-in day?

  • Please limit the number of people you bring on move-in day to two guests per resident.
  • The CDC recommends that face coverings are worn in public areas. Please be sure to have on a face covering on move-in day.
  • There will be occupancy limit signs posted around the community.
  • Let us know if you are not feeling well and need to delay your move-in. Your health and safety, and that of all our residents are our priorities.
MOVE-IN AND FIRST PAYMENT

If you haven’t already marked your calendar, grab a pen (or tell Siri) to take note. Move-in begins at 9:00am on August 10, 2020. When you arrive at Redpoint Wilmington for move-in, please follow the signs to check-in and pick up the keys to your new home.

If you want to avoid late charges (and who doesn’t?), you’ll want to make sure that your first installment is paid by August 1, 2020. Late charges will apply unless we have received the first installment payment by August 6, 2020. Checks or money orders should be made payable to Redpoint Wilmington and can be mailed or brought directly to our office.

You can also pay online through the resident portal using a debit card, credit card or electronic checking transfer, or by automatic recurring charge to your debit card, credit card or bank account. There are no convenience fees when paying from your bank account or with a check.

GUARANTOR FORM OR PRE-PAYMENT

We know paperwork isn’t anyone’s idea of a good time, but if you haven’t done so already, please submit your guarantor form. We’ll need to approve this before you’re able to move-in. Alternately, you will be required to prepay the final two installments in advance in order to move in, as described in your Housing Agreement.

UTILITIES

Prior to move-in, you or one of your apartment-mates must contact Progress Energy to establish service in that resident’s name prior to move-in day. Please contact your apartment-mates to determine in whose name the service will be established, then contact Progress Energy at (800) 452-2777 to set up your account. Please be prepared to provide proof that the electricity service has been established in one of your names prior to move-in day.

RENTER’S LIABILITY INSURANCE

It’s probably not something you normally think about, but you are required to have at least $100,000 of liability protection by the time you move in, and throughout your stay with us. This doesn’t cost much, and is designed to protect you if you accidentally cause a fire or flood. As unlikely as that sounds, if something happens, you’ll be very glad to have it. How easy have we made it to take care of this requirement? You don’t have to do anything at all; we’ll automatically charge your account $11 per installment, waive the requirement to provide separate insurance, and buy our own insurance to cover the same risks. If you have your own liability insurance and don’t want to be charged for this, please upload your insurance certificate and we’ll let you know right away if it meets the requirements. EXPRESS CHECK-IN

Happiness is spending all day by the pool and the evening by the fire. So why waste time waiting in line?

To get on the fast track for check-in, click here for your resident portal link and register online. From here, you’ll want to make sure you can answer yes to each of the questions below.

  • Did you make your first installment payment?
  • Did you enter your vehicle information (if applicable)?
  • Did you sign any pending documents?

If you answered yes to all of the above, you’re one step closer to your next adventure. Besides that, all you need to bring with you is a valid photo ID (and an appetite, we’ll have snacks waiting for you). Please click here to sign up for a move-in time on your desired move-in date. Bringing a four-legged friend? Please be sure to let us know by clicking here so all of your documents are fully signed before move-in. We will need to know the type of animal, breed, and weight in order to send you the pet addendum. In order for your fur fam to officially join our community, we require a signed pet addendum and consent from roommates (if applicable).

PACKING LIST

What you take with you matters. To show you how glad we are that you’ll be here, we’ve put together a master packing list for you. Quite simply, you’ll find everything you need. And nothing you don’t.

Living room

  • Lamps
  • Decorations
  • Window covering for patio/balcony door

Bedroom

  • Lamps
  • Bedding – beds are full size
  • Towels and additional linens
  • Laundry basket
  • Alarm clock (or maybe just your phone)
  • Ethernet cable (for plug-in devices – your residence has WiFi)
  • Trash bin

Kitchen

  • Cookware and dishes (pots, pans, glasses, silverware)
  • Cooking utensils (tongs, spatulas, etc.)
  • Trash bin and garbage bags

COMMUNITY POLICIES

You’ll want to spend some time getting familiar with the Community Policies. You can find these online here. And if you want a hard copy, we won’t judge you. We might even high-five you. And if our policies are the only thing you read all day, then job well done!
